Seeing Logan standing before a sword, Ali stepped closer to him.

“Remember, you only get one chance. You can choose only one weapon—so choose wisely. This one might look impressive, but it’s not practical. It’s far too heavy, and I don’t even know what special qualities it has.” Ali explained carefully, not wanting Logan to waste such an important opportunity.

But Logan had already made up his mind. How could he possibly let this sword go?

He reached out again, grasped the hilt, and with a slight push…

Clinggg!

The heavy blade slid free from its stand with a sharp metallic cry.

“What?! Ali was taken aback. So were the others.

“Are you using gravity magic to reduce its weight?” Ali suddenly remembered—Logan had gravity affinity as well.

“Something like that.” A faint smile tugged at Logan’s lips. For someone without internal energy, this blade might indeed feel unbearably heavy. But for Logan, who had already reached the level of an Ultimate Grandmaster, it was nothing.

Ali frowned. “But if you choose this sword, you’ll need to constantly channel mana into it. That will drain your strength quickly and leave you exhausted. Think carefully, Logan. Is this truly the weapon you want? I won’t allow you to change it later.”

“Don’t worry, Master. This is the one I want,” Logan replied firmly.

Noah tilted his head, puzzled. “Isn’t he throwing away such a great opportunity?”

“Yeah. I don’t know what’s going on in his head.” Emily added.

“He’s just a kid, after all,” Charles muttered under his breath.

“Okay. If you say so.” As Logan looked fully confident, Ali didn’t pursue it anymore.

Others started looking for their own weapons.

Charles, who had been doubtful about Logan’s capabilities, was himself an A-class hunter. His affinities were air and earth, and he had chosen a massive hammer. For an air user, a heavy weapon was highly effective—combining the sheer weight of the hammer with air magic would allow him to unleash devastating force.

The one who corrected his comment about Logan earlier was Robert, another A-class hunter. He was a fire mage who had chosen a bow, a weapon perfectly suited for launching blazing fire arrows with precision.

Both of them were from the neighbouring Kingdom of Arcadia, Caelondor. The Third Eye Sect was cunning. If only local hunters were sent, the enemy would easily gather information about their abilities. That’s why they were invited by Ali.

The other two were Jasper and Oliver, both were water mages and equal to A-class hunters. Jasper chose a sword, while Oliver selected a spear. They were from the mage’s court.

These four weren’t ordinary A-class hunters. Each of them was close to stepping into the realm of S-class, which made them far more formidable than most.

That was precisely why Noah and Ali had selected them

Noah was still strolling through the gaps of weapon stands. He was looking confused. “What should I pick? I don’t want any accident there, so I should be fully prepared.” Then his eyes fell on a rapier sword. “This should do the work. With air boosting my speed, this will be the perfect weapon to use lightning and slice any of the enemies.”

Emily had quietly chosen a gauntlet. Though she was a healer, she still wanted to be ready in case backup was needed. The gauntlet could launch small bursts of fire, regardless of affinity… simple, reliable, and just enough to keep danger at bay.

Once everyone was finished, they gathered in the center where Logan and Ali were standing.

“Done?” Ali asked, his voice curt.

“Yes,” everyone replied in unison.

“Good. Then let’s move quickly. The sooner we leave, the less risky this will be,” Ali said, signaling with his hand.

But before they could depart, Logan spoke up. “Master… are just the eight of us enough?”

Ali turned back and answered calmly, “Don’t worry. The only real threat is the person I mentioned before. And the sect master, Lucas Rhys? He’s strong, but still not on par with an S-class hunter. The rest are insignificant. These numbers should be more than enough. And if not, then no number will be enough.”

He paused, then added, “Besides, the more people we bring, the harder it gets to coordinate. And the less likely we are to launch a proper surprise attack. We’ll strike first from the shadows, only if necessary will we face them head-on. This won’t be a reckless frontal assault.”

After the explanation, Logan was more thorough about the plan.

In his past life, he never bothered with plans… he would charge head-on like a lion tearing into a herd of sheep. But now, he had yet to return to his peak, and he wasn’t sure about his enemy’s true level either. Otherwise, he wouldn’t even have sought Ali’s help in the first place.

Soon, they stepped out of the weapon vault. Leaving Ali’s chamber behind, the group strode toward the main gate.

They crossed the hallway, then the main hall swiftly and exited the guild. None of them had the luxury to even spare a glance at anyone.

But their sudden march drew everyone’s attention.

“Where are they going all of a sudden? They look so serious,” Lilith muttered, still seated with Gideon’s party. She couldn’t help but stare in confusion.

Once Ali and his group were gone, all eyes in her table shifted to her instantly, as if expecting her to explain everything.

“So? Where are they rushing now?” Melissa couldn’t even suppress her curiosity and already asked.

Noticing the stares, Lilith raised her shoulders in a helpless shrug. “Don’t look at me. Even my parents won’t tell me a thing. I tried asking, but they wouldn’t say a word.”

Outside the guild a carriage was already waiting.

They all quickly climbed into it, and with a sharp flick of the reins from the coachman, it sped off toward their destination.

Meanwhile, at the same time, somewhere else…

Alice sat on her veranda, lost in thought. She looked miserable, almost like a sick woman. Logan’s memories wouldn’t leave her, haunting her every moment. Just then, she noticed some movement behind her.

“I’m not in the mood. You can leave,” she said distractedly, assuming it was someone bringing her food.

But suddenly, a hand clamped tightly over her mouth and nose.

She tried to scream, but not a single sound escaped….
